Although referrals from doctors and mental health professionals are welcome, Lisa will accept self-referred patients.
Lisa is well-educated in treating addiction and psychiatric conditions via multiple approaches. She is also particularly skilled in using medication to treat certain conditions, when necessary, such that those with a dual diagnosis don’t have to sacrifice one mental problem for another.
After starting her career as a consultant psychiatrist at Woodborne Priory Hospital, she went on to work as an assistant medical director at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust – a position she still holds.
Currently, she mainly operates out of her own private practice while also serving as an honorary senior lecturer in Neuroscience/Psychiatry at the University of Birmingham.
In addition, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Lisa received her medical education at the University of Birmingham, where she got a degree in Psychiatry and Pharmacology. After that, she went to the University of Dundee, where she qualified for a post-graduate Medical Education Certificate.
Most recently, she also received her Bond Solon Civil and Criminal Expert Certificates at Cardiff University Law School.
Lisa is a regular speaker and presenter at various regional and international conferences related to mental health issues. In the last several years, she has been an honorary attendant at the Royal College of Psychiatrists International Congress and the Royal College of General Adult Psychiatry Annual Conference.
Lisa’s name can be found on dozens of research publications, many of which are focused on alcohol and drug misuse, and co-morbid psychological issues.
Her name has appeared in world-renowned journals such as the British Journal of Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical Forensic Medicine, Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, Journal of Royal Medical Services, Psychiatric Bulletin, and many more.
