Dr. Owen Bowden-Jones
Owen is a Consultant Psychiatrist and researcher with over 20 years experience of helping people with psychological problems. Currently, he is working for both the NHS and in private practice.
In addition to the above, he is a clinical advisor to Public Health England and is a chair of the advisory council on the Misuse of Drugs and an Associate Registrar at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is highly experienced in general and substance misuse psychiatry.

Owen trained at the Imperial College London in General Psychiatry and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Since 2015, he has been leading the NEPTUNE clinical guidance group providing national guidance and e-learning on emerging drugs of misuse. Owen participates in a number of international expert groups such as the G7 at the United Nations the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Abuse (EMCDDA).
In 2010, he founded the drug club clinic where he offers treatment for those who use ‘club’ drugs such as cocaine, ketamine, synthetic cannabis, MDMA, GHB/GBL, prescription medication and other emerging drugs. The clinic is known for its ground-breaking approaches to treating drug problems.
Owen is an expert in a number of areas of psychiatry and his interest lies in working with people suffering with depression, ADHD, anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. He also takes a special interest in pain management.
Owen is best known for ‘The Drug Conversation’. This is a book for parents on how to talk to their children about drugs and was highly recommended at the 2017 BMA Medical Book Awards.
